The University of Science and Technology Beijing has initiated a series of effective measures to keep its students at work and ensure a positive mental attitude during the COVID-19 outbreak.

To curb the spread of the virus, the university started spring semester courses online on Feb 24. After that, the university's Center for Student Learning and Development made constant efforts to help students adjust to online classes, form good study habits and follow a disciplined daily routine at home.

The university also collaborated with video-sharing website Bilibili.com, the mobile reading application WeChat Read and other online platforms to offer students learning resources.

An online program where seasoned teachers give detailed analysis of academic problems has been launched to help freshmen and sophomores better absorb fundamental knowledge. The program has garnered more than 20,000 viewers.

The university has invited experts from CNKI, the largest and most widely used online academic library in China, to give useful suggestions to seniors and support them in writing their graduation theses at home.

Additionally, as it wasn't convenient for students living in Wuhan, Hubei province to go out and buy textbooks, the university sent free books to students confined indoors. More than 400 undergraduate students in Hubei province have been teamed up with an online learning partner who would help them maintain learning efficiency over this special period.
